Cigars.

I ordered a new batch of cigars the other day. Here's the web site. Rocky Patel Signature Toros. Very nice, smooth smoke. Smoked the first one yesterday on the way to work. They fit perfectly in those old left over Mac Thames tubes. Handy in travelin' around with 'em. Get you some.

That's a Mac stub there, peekin' out of the tray. One of about a half dozen Hampton Courts that I have left over from a box I got a while back. Smoked it on the way back to the base from Florence on Monday morning. I've learned to love smokin' while I make these long drives. That's my torch lighter and opener there on the dash. I turn on the vent and crack the sun roof and the smoke drifts right out. Love it. Hooked. Junky, fer sure.

You keep driving and taking pictures and you'll end up like that cellphone dude!

I know...you were probably sittin' still...least I hope you were.

I'm gonna start smoking cigars as soon as the weather is nice. One a week, maybe two.
Got a recommendation?
I'm serious :-)
Should I buy a box or just one or two at a time.
I looked at the website and saw these: IT Super Fuerte Toro Maduro?

Mushy - Yea, I know. It was while I was rollin' up to my parking place on base. I was just sittin' there. Most dangerous thing i ever did was text message at about 75 goin' up I-35 at night. Scared the piss out of me and I'll never do it again.

Goinglikesisty - You can check out that site and others for a sampler. Those are really the best things to get if you aren't familiar with what you like. i got those RPs because I got some in a sampler with some other brands and found out I liked them a lot. This site sends out teaser emails and these cigars were the deal of the day. They were cheap at just below $50 for 20 cigars. Try to find a deal like that. Go to "Featured Deals" and check out the Macanudos (Mushy's brand) or that Boutique sampler '07. That one looks good to me, even though it's not as good a deal as the one I just got. Those are all good smokes. Also, think about the free things they want to give you along with the cigars. Hell, I've only been smokin' for about 8 or 9 months, so I'm just a baby when it comes to this stuff. You'll learn like I have in time what you like and go from there.

I don't know about cigars, but I'm STILL trying to quit with the nicotine (sigh).. I only started a couple of years ago after kissing them goodbye over sixteen years back. I could kick myself!

Glad to see I ain't the only asshole who uses a hole-punch on his cigar!

I've got a cigar-torch like yours, too, except mine's the transparent version. I quit carryin' it because of it's tendency to "go-off" while tumblin' around in my pocket! That, and the fact it holds a LOT of butane, for no more safety than it has on it's design. I went with a NIBO-brand, with the built-in cap-punch.

Shrinkie - Soooo good to have you back. Yea, I can imagine how bad it is. I don't inhale, usually, so i don't really feel hooked. Mostly hooked on the calmness that i feel from smokin' one in the car or while I play pool on Wednesday nights. Hope I never have to give it up. hell, I just started.

ajdshootist - Yea, my doc told me to guive them up too. Screw them. Hope you get better, and get to enjoy another one.

Bruno - Yea, my cousin in PA uses a guillotine cutter, but i liked the punch that Mushy has on his key chain. I use both, depending on the cigar. My torch has a safety. You have to click on the side to open the top for it to light. Can imagine how... disconcerting it must be to have your torch go off in your shorts. Ouch.

Glad to see you've joined the CI Gang...just ordered a sampler pack today(even though my humidors are packed full)...but with it I ordered a clover leaf Guinness baseball cap, which is what I wanted anyway....my stash is at about 120 cigars, and that should take me until well into next year...but I'm sure I will get weak and buy more.

;)
