Puny, but still remembering the day.

"...A day which will live in infamy." How many people will note the day? I hear that the 500 some odd survivors are meeting in Hawaii. It's a very moving place to visit If you ever get the chance.

Its been a shitty week. Started out Sunday with some sort of headache, post nasal drip crap. I started taking Coricidin D and Nyquil Monday afternoon, resisting the inevitable pressure from my hippy assed sister to take some sort of medieval tree bark shit, and by mid day Tuesday I was feeling a lot better. Then it tuned into some sort of infection that broke out in red spots all over my face and scalp, spreading to my shoulders and arms, and eventually to the nether regions. Went in and got a shot and some good drugs this morning, so I should be fine soon. Thing is, I'm finishing up 7 classes this week and next week, so I have to go into class looking like I rolled in poison ivy. I have no energy to read term papers, and would love to avoid going in to class, but the way our system is set up, If we are sick we have to find someone to cover for us and pay them out of our own pocket. I tell people "Don't worry, It's just the pox." Thing is, I never get sick. Anyway, take care.

Hope the "pox" don't last long old buddy. If Coricidin still came in those nifty little glass bottles, I'd play you a little slide blues to comfort you!

Thanks for the memory too!

Sorry you're under the weather, we've been getting loads of patients with what I call the "creeping cruds" all week.
Hope you feel better soon.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial made me cry like a baby.

I've been to it many times, and it was always the same surreal and moving experience for me. I recorded a special from The History Channel that i need to watch called "The Myths of Pearl Harbor."

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Why in the world would you have to pay the substitute teacher yourself, though? This is high school, isn't it?

The high school has it covered, but the community college doesn't. I have to find a substitute to cover my college classes, another qualified instructor, and pay them out of my own pocket. The high school is amazingly civilized in comparison. Called them Thursday morning at about 7am and said I needed to go to the hospital and they said "ok, don't worry about it." The college folks would have said "ok, so have you arranged for someone to take over the class?"

Oooh, ok, thanks for the explanation. I thought you were talking about high school classes;)

It's great that the college folks are so concerned for your health...lol!
