Happy, happy, joy, joy.

It's cold this weekend in Texas, and I just cranked up the fireplace for the first time this winter. I've got a backlog of old term papers and exams sitting in front of the hearth. It's like the fall of Saigon here, with me burnin' papers and stuff, getting rid of old officialdom, doin' my bit for global warming (my shreader is busted). And there's a cool show on the history channel. "Dogfights". They show old guys telling their stories of wars gone by, air-to-air combat from WW1 to now, with really cool computer animation. Check it out, and have a great weekend.

It's frickin' freezing here in Las Vegas, too. Don't have a fireplace, but did have to turn on the heat.

I'm sometimes tempted to get TV, just for History Channel, Discovery, Animal Planet...VH1 Classic (!).
Unfortunately, there is so much other CRAP on that I'd probably get sucked in before I knew it, and end up a Depends wearing couch potato with lank, greasy hair and BO, drooling on myself...

Nah, I'll stick to books and the internet, thanks!

How was that very interesting photo you posted made?

Have a great weekend, too...I'll be doing tons of homework tomorrow, but the end is in sight...last day of school December 14th, last day of internship December 16th, graduation ceremony December 20th, life is GOOD!

I like living in South Florida (sort of), but I really do miss being able to use the fireplace. I'm still trying to find out why our house even has one. It gets chilly here, but I don't think it ever gets that cold. And knowing that I'll probably never get to use the fireplace before I sell this house sucks.

I'm sometimes tempted to get rid of the TV. I know I spend too much time vegetating in front of it. Usually have it on just as noise while I surf this thing. I tell myself I'd get more books read, but I'd probably just play DVDs and tapes instead. But there's too much cool stuff on it now to get rid of it.

The picture is something from that astronomy site on the left.

The fireplace really doesn't produce much heat, unless you're sitting right in front of it. One good log in a wood burning stove and you are warm all night, but most of the heat in a fireplace goes up the chimney. Crank it up, just for the ambiance, or get yourself one of those candle racks to put in it. Those are really cool.

Hey, star trails - been there done that! Used to do that in black & white.

It's just proves the world goes around!

Stay warm. You could just use the papers for the fire and give everyone an A?
