Well, that was fun.

30 to 40 minutes spent at the hospital, and I had a quick check by a nice little doctor, sweet as can be. She quickly figured out what I had (chronic Bronchitis) from listening to my chest and back and then she hooked me up with three good meds to clear it all up. 45 minutes of waiting at the pharmacy and I'm armed with some good sounding shit. Enough with the over-the-counter crud. This shit could actually get me high. Now we're talkin'.

I have a little folder with 7 antibiotic pills (Azythromycin). Took two already, and will take one a day till they're gone.

I've got an inhaler with Albuterol, which I'll use twice every 4 hours till I don't need it any more.

And I've got a little bottle of Promethazine, which they said has Codeine in it. Woohooo! It's to kill the cough and help me sleep, and maybe give me some cool dreams.

So, depending on how I feel tomorrow, I'll probably head back to work. All will be well in no time. Thanks for all your good wishes. You're all like family to me. Cheers.

Keep a notepad by the bed for those cool dreams, Samuel Taylor Coleridge only got half of Kubla Kahn down before he was interrupted and then lost it...

Glad you went to the doc, Jeff. And I was gonna drop a note about your mail bouncing and all that, but see ya got that covered.

Now just get well!

Yeah, I have to suck on a gotdam nebulizer every day at least once because of about thirty five years of smoke in my lungs and that gotdam nebulizer doesn't taste near as good as those good cigars. The hell of it is that I quit smoking 16 years ago and it still caught up with me.

Hey, Hairy! I had those 7 little pills a few weeks ago (used 53 hrs of sick leave from 24 Jan till back at work last Monday---more than I took all of 2007). Anywho, did the doc tell you the pills keep on giving for 5 days more (after you stop taking them). Sure Nuff!! I got none of the other stuff cause I had a bad sinus infection, etc. So after 5 days back at work, I got food poisoning all this past weekend, but back up and to work today). Take Care, Hairy!!

Seriously, don't go back to work so quickly. You need time to recover, or you might relapse.
Especially since the meds you were given will probably make you feel "good", but just mask the severity of your symptoms.

You poor love. But sounds like you could be back to normal soon enough with all that medication. Don't overdo it though, you don't want a relapse.

Hey FHB. Back in December, around the 19th, I got very sick from a "flu like illness"...and was still sick on the 10th of January (I'm stubborn when it comes to going to Doctors). I finally got a script from the Doctor and he gave me the anti-biotic and inhaler your talking about. They both cleared me up almost immediately...and I already have COPD...
