Oooow, that's gonna leave a mark.

A truck was traveling down the highway at around 1 o'clock in the morning near Tulsa, Oklahoma. A motorcyclist was traveling at about 120mph and ran into the back of the moving semi-truck. The truck driver said he felt the impact, but it took almost a 1/4 mile for him to pull over.

When he went back to check the truck, this is what he found...

That's what I'd call a "Holy Shit" moment. And I don't want to know how much skin that dude lost on those feet before the truck driver could fully stop. Not pretty.

Not very dignified ether. I imagine lots of folks in minivans, their kids squealin', goin' by and doin' a double take. Maybe a few folks laughed at the ridiculousness of it, and maybe a few more tried to signal the truck driver. I bet they all got out from behind that thing though, just in case Homer here got dislodged.

The bike was a bit damaged... just a bit.

But guess what? He lived, supposedly. VERY tempted to say something cynical about the gene pool that produced him, or the Darwin awards, bit I guess you know what I'm thinkin'. You decide to drive one of those friggin' things like a fool, and maybe the rest of us will get to pay all your doctor bills forever, since you're too young and stupid to have any decent insurance. Keep these pictures in mind when we get back to talkin' about some of the things that are wrong with the country. Trust me, it applies.

We all run head-long into life, never knowing what lies just ahead!

Been in a couple of nasty bike wrecks...but if this guy lived, someone had to be watching over him....OUCH!

I heard he was tits-up, but if he lived I'll bet he won't do it again.
I hard of an almost similar thing when I was a street-bike squid, where a guy (friend of a friend) going north on 101 from Morgan Hill after midnight (on a bike) doing a buck-and-a-quarter ran up on the back end of a pickup with camper at speed, and flew through the back "door" of the camper into the interior and landed in the bunk. The driver of the pickup felt the commotion-collision and stopped, and found the guy in there OK - and they knew each other from going to the (bike) races!
And then there was the guy who discovered his bike was on fire and he had no kickstand...

Hammer - Yep, pretty wild.

Mushy - Dude, you cut through it neatly there. Ok, Obi Wan, I bow to your wisdom.

Pat - Yep, someone must have been.

Dirtcrashr - That's a wild story.

FHB,
That wreck happened on US 169, just a few miles from where I used to live in Tulsa. There were always young guys zipping along doing crazy stunts. Maybe he'll serve as a warning to other idiots. I doubt it though.

I used to ride a motorcycle, but it seems like a lifetime ago.

Wow. That made me hurt, speaking as a biker. Given as how he appeared to be "properly dressed," i.e., leathers and helmet, I wonder what happened to his boots?

He was blown right out of his boots. Safety gear is often not a solution to random street craziness - it does its best work on the racetrack in a more controlled environment where everybody's going the same direction at about the same speed.

And the guy in the back of the pickup camper in my story, he was OK in that he wasn't dead - but he'd been kneecapped going over the bars and through the aluminum door, and he was also boot-less...

According to the TulsaWorld website, it happened on 4/18/07. Brandon Lee White, 26, of Broken Arrow was dead on the scene.
