Best speech on the subject so far.
i have always loved him as well. he was, sadly, the dems icon for evil under the clinton administration and then when he started with the aide in the bedroom, well, that was the end of him. a republican cannot get away with what a dem can. double standard? no. the dems have no standard. they can do what they want without recourse. it is true.
newt is a wonderful brilliant man, a great historian, but sadly will never be president. i wish he was.

Bottom Line FHB: Politicans make sense only when they are not running for office. That's why Newt says the things he does....he makes sense, but when he was in charge of the House, the GOP like the Socialist Dimocrats continued to tax, spend, and be politically correct.
I'm posting that on Silverbacks on the 4th. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
He is my hero, has been for years. It is strange that Republicans screw up they resign, and then you have the Dems........

Doggybloggy - Dude, don't ever think that all I want here is a monologue. I welcome other viewpoints. I like what Newt says here, and I love to hear him talk about issues, but as Pat said above, when he was in power he was almost as bug a douche bag as the ones we have now. Yea, I'm conservative on a lot of things, but I have a liberal side too. I judge things the way I see them. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable here. I wish you hadn't erased your comment. It was a good one.
