This picture says it all.

If you are down and out, feeling the weight of the world on
your back. Taking too many things too personally, maybe
this image will help you put a few things in perspective.

It's a Sun Prominence (an exploding solar flare) photographed
in July 2002. Makes us look like a pea. Insignificant compared
to the power thrown out at random by the natural forces of the
universe. Of course, this knowledge doesn't help you at all in the
short term. You still have to pay your mortgage and shit, and yer
gas and light bill aint goin away ether. But things could be worse.

Much worse.

Good point (and cool pic!).

Of course, re: mortgage and shit -

If you think nobody cares, miss a car payment. :-)

Yeah, things could be a lot worse. You could be married to my ex-wife.

I'd prefer being burnt to a crispy critter than go through that again.

Did they say how many million miles long that flare was?

Another thought is that our sun is a pea to many others in the Milky Way.

We are nothing and lucky to be alive!

Mushy- Nope, but it does say that they hang out there in the suns magnetic field for about a month.

And yep, insignificant. Puts a lot of things in perspective.

I'm pretty sure that flare was caused by my SUV burning fossil fuels.
