Oosik. Petrified Walrus baculum, or penis bone. Above you have a 22 inch specimen. And no, it doesn't get harder or bigger when you rub it. Excellent knife handle material. Polishes up nice. I've never used it before, so it'll be an interesting experiment.
Still torn between the mountain goat antler and this, bit I think I'm leanin' more and more towards goin' for the bone. Don't take that the wrong way.

Steady as she goes...stand by for a ram!
Is that a ceramic blade, or is it steel?
That's a pretty knife.
Okay. Where the heck did you get "petrified walrus baculum"? And what'd you do with the rest of him?
Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Having a boner!"
Mushy - It's steel, Damascus, like yours. In fact, the exact same blade. Got it from the same guy I got yours from.
Phlemmy - Yep, And it should polish up nice.
Les - Got it at the gun show in Austin. Got a piece about 5 inches long, perfectly shaped, for about $55. I'm sure the rest is still in the fossil record.
Christina - Yep, fer sure. I'll be porting a stiffie, sheathed and sharpened for scalpin'.
Izzat anything like a coon pecker toothpick?
I'll take your word for it, as I've never "de-boned" a walrus...!
I got a big ol Raccoon Peter Bone but it can't hang with your Walrus bone.

I've seen a whale's, you-know, thingy. It was much bigger than the walrus model. Try carving that!
