Y'all ever hear of these dudes?

Here's a band that grew from the demise of two other great groups; the lead singer, Scott Weiland, from Stone Temple Pilots, and the rest of the band from Guns And Roses. The lead Guitar player, Slash, is one of the best dudes out there now. Love these guys. Here's the tune that was the big hit from their first CD, Contraband.

It's called Slither. I love this one. The guitar solo in the end is wonderful.

And here's a fun little video showing Slash noodlin' his way into a classic. See if you recognize the riff, when he gets to it.

They just put out a new CD called Libertad. Here's a decent tune from it. So far, my favorite thing off this one is a cover of ELOs classic Can't Get It Out Of My Head, but I couldn't find a video of it. Not out yet. Love it. Check 'em out. Cheers.

LOVE Velvet Revolver, not like, LOVE!
I think Axl Rose holds the rights to the "Guns 'N' Roses" name, etc.
So the rest of the band had to pick another name.
Of course, they kick way more ass than Axl with his new GNR band!

Word verification: urdpg...U R da Pig???!!! Thanks a LOT!

They rock, fer sure, but this CD is not as good as the first one. Oh, I dunno, it's growin' on me.

They group has some good music, but they need a lead singer.

Suppose I'd look sexy in tight, metallic, lace-up-the-front britches?

To somebody man, to somebody. Don't give the Goddess any ideas.

Yea, that dude's got a permanent emaciated look. He's smoked too much and shot up too many times, and his voice has gone too hell. He's basically operating on style and rock star persona. It works for me, as a package, but they'd do well to get a better voice to front them. But hell, they had Axl Rose fronting them for years, with his stupid screech, so this is a huge jump up in quality.

J - Is that who I think it is? Well I'll be damned. Nice blog. I'll have to start reading. Crap, I've got too many to read as it is.

You bet your ass it is. Will see you sooner than later...k?

You don't have to read mine religiously...such a busy man with so little time!

Your time is off on your page. Fix your time zone, Wilson! No wonder you label things as '8:00 am my ass'....your time is all messed up. Silly.

FHB,
Wow. That music is great! I always wondered what became of Scott Weiland. Thanks for posting it.

I saw STP in Tulsa twice, as a gracious host. I took my niece to see them on her 21st birthday. Then years later, my cousin Lisa was visiting and we went to see them, spur of the moment. I was amazed at how emaciated he had become between the two concerts. The concert was only an hour long, greatest hits only. He had his shirt off and was really working the crowd. It was almost a religious experience with Scott Weiland as the Messiah. Scott Weiland checked into rehab the next week for heroin addiction. Still, one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
